Vacation/Family Reunion in Emery

While we were in Emery we took a couple of 4-wheeler rides. We saw lots of beautiful country. It is out there in the middle of no where, I would hate to get lost because the country is so vast. We scoped out some places that we would like to take everyone next time we are all there. The sand dunes were especially fun and not far off I-70, Grandpa knows the way.
Out there in the middle of nowhere there were great roads and road signs, it is funny to see them because it really is in the middle of nowhere, I mean nothing in sight, ever!!
Grandpa showed us where Butch Cassidy hid out when he came through the area. Some say it is spelled incorrectly so it is not authentic, but it was fun to go see.
Don't you wonder what was happening when the world was forming? Here sits this huge rock in the middle of nowhere, all by itself with nothing like it around. Farther down the trail there is this shale rock that looks as though it was standing in one tall thin sheet and then tipped over and broke into big puzzle pieces. If you could move them you could put the sheet back together. Then there are these big round black volcanic balls that look like they rained down over the top of the shale, but there doesn't seem to be a volcano near by, so strange. I can't imagine what was occurring to make that type of formation. Very cool and very worth the trip to go see.
Dad and I raced with his Sportsman to see who could get the farthest up the sand dunes..............................I won!!!! You guys would love these, especially if we brought Nick and Sammy's bikes. It would be a fun picnic spot for the kids and probably be warm in the late fall since it is on the south side and pretty hot in July. It was a cloudy day and a storm was brewing so not too hot especially when you were moving along. I love to go riding and see the country. The two 4-wheeler trips we took were just what I needed and recharged my batteries, which were running pretty low. Fun Fun Fun!!! I love 4-wheeling and seeing the country, Dad loved it too!

Emily, Myra and Myles brought GGrandma Mac wonderful healthy treats to help her recover from her cancer treatments! Thanks Guys. Myra, Myles and Alex came over for a swim party on the roof and it was lots of fun and the only way to endure the heat is to stay wet!!! For Fathers Day Bryan and Nick got remote control helicopters that fly great in the high ceilings of the castle, we had lots of fun. I'm not very faithful about blogging, but I enjoy the blogs of those who are faithful. Thanks everyone for all teh fun blogs!!!

Beautiful Yellow Flowers

Mom is doing so much better. The best part is that she doesn't have to go back and have another treatment. She is starting to feel better and make plans. We went to Aunt Coleens today and I sewed the edges around some receiving blankets that Mom is working on. It felt good to go somewhere besides a treatment or physical therapy. Mom would like to go for a walk in the mornings when it is cool, but I am not supposed to do exercise walking until my feet get better. I go back to the podiatrist on Monday and see how I am doing.
Esther sent me those beautiful yellow flowers! Yellow is my favorite color. Thanks Bunny, The 3 Grandma's are all enjoying the flowers. I hope everyone will be looking at them instead of looking at the bad photo of me. Mom took the photo from her chair, but I wanted to show the flowers and the (8)Crayon Caddies that I have made this week for the booth at the 24th celebration in Emery. I have also been making Christmas things that I can't talk about. Julie wants me to do a picture for her family like I did for ours, so I have been working on that. I am also working on a landscape for Bryan. Mom says she is coming to my house in a couple of weeks and I am looking forward to that. We are going to scan some old slides of Grandma Wiltshires that will be really fun. These slide have the only pictures of Mom's wedding, and much more, so we are excited to get to them .
I miss my grandbabies, so I am sending hugs and kisses to them all. Love Grandma Castle

I remember.........

I remember trying to vacuum while you tried to look under the vacuum to see how it worked.
(A GOOD HANDY MAN).
I remember how cute you were during your silent temper tantrums.
(A PATIENT MAN).
I remember giving you a garbage bag at Myles age and having you pick up garbage at a landscaping jobs and you did it!
(A HARD WORKING MAN).
I remember finding a beetle upside down in your mouth, afraid to get it out and sick to let you eat it.
(A NATURAL ORGANIC EATER EVEN THEN).
I remember when we thought you were lost. When we found you, you had just been hunting "lizard meat"
(GOOD PROVIDER).
I remember thinking you would never talk, you were always quiet and thoughtful.
(A SPIRITUAL MAN).
I could tell when you were just small what kind of man you would grow up to be.
Happy Birthday Bryan
I am proud of the man you have become Love Mom.
